This is a great setup for a '66 Mustang converting to a modern battery, this tray has a top bracket to hold down the battery. The original tray had a bottom bracket to hold the battery however modern batteries do not have a lip at the bottom of the battery for the bottom bracket to grab onto.

A great solution as some newer batteries don't have the hold-down ridge on the bottom. Definitely more secure than the stock 1965 battery tray.

Great solution. New batteries don't have a bump for the hold-down on the side. This tray is much more secure. It bolted right into my 65. Good solution

Seems well built holds the battery and the hold down does the trick! Bolt holes weren’t the same as the original but a dill/bit and all is good

Sturdy and well made. Its a great solution to replace the "lack of support" 24F battery with a more commonly available one. I needed to do some hammer work on the 65' apron (all under where the new box will sit) to clear the 67 style tray.

The battery tray attachment points did not match the mounting points on the inner apron. I had to drill new holes in the apron to meet the tray mounts. So it’s not an exact direct replacement.

If
a car has a repro apron, many times people will drill it to fit the battery tray.
Unfortunately the battery trays vary a bit and can have the holes located
slightly off compared to an original. The only way to properly test fit
this and other battery trays would be to fit it to an original apron. Also, simply adjusting the lower brace can also improve fit. Given that it's impossible to know the "past" of most cars, and many rusty aprons have been replaced with unknown-manufacturer reproduction battery trays, there is always the possibility of variation when buying a new tray. This tray included with our 10732-1CPK kit is manufactured by the same factory that makes our standard/original 10732-1B tray, both of which we have sold thousands of without issue. Again, because of the dynamics involved, you never know what you're going to get into replacing a tray, EVEN IF you are installing an original Ford tray.
